Framed: 29 x 33 3/4 inches.Moderate deposits of surface dirt and dust; canvas is lined; passages of the canvas have been pressed due to the lining process; network of craquelures throughout the surface; a few pinpoint paint losses in the lower left corner; areas of inpainting scattered throughout the surface, most noticeable along previous stretcher bar marks, and in two areas in the center (to the right and left of the horse's rear legs). Under UV light: strokes of inpainting within the sky to the left of the horse's chest and muzzle; areas of inpainting in the sky to the left of the jockey and within his hat, jacket, and pant leg; one round spot of inpainting along the upper right edge; additional small areas of inpainting, primarily within the sky.
